True Humility???

Like many Christians, I guess, I have had the question of what ”true humility” is on my mind for a while now. One interesting part of this question has been the fact that I have always taught to myself that the answer laid somewhere in the lines of Philippians 2 verses 5-8

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

But yet,

I was never sufficiently satisfied with the answer in its plain texts, that is

Lowering himself to the state of man (servant)

Dying the death of a cursed man (Gal 3:13)

The same text in January, 2018 however took on a deeper meaning to me;

It was not just the death of a cursed man but it was an unjust humiliation of a sinless Son of God, for an offence he did not commit but was willing to bear “silently” (Acts 8; 32) for the purpose of God.  Eureka!, I said to myself (or at least I feel more satisfied now).

True Humility is the willingness to endure unjust humiliation (without murmuring) for the sake of God (or His is purpose).

This is what I found. I will be glad to know what you have found.

Happy New year!!!
